Jesus Is

Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is the bread of life. Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ. He was born of the Virgin Mary, and is God in the flesh. Jesus is the Lamb of God whose blood was shed on the cross for the sins of man, as prophesied in Isaiah 53, saying,

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by him. Through Jesus we can find the straight and narrow path which leads to Heaven which is set apart from that broad road that leads to destruction, which the world follows.

Jesus is the reason that we can be satisfied with our lives. He has the ability to fill that void that is within all of us which cannot be filled by drugs, nor alcohol, nor money, nor women, nor any other thing of this world. Only Jesus can fill that empty void inside of us because Jesus is the only thing that truly satisfies.

Jesus is why we can be happy. Jesus is why we can love. He brought to us many great teachings of ethics. If your right hand offends you, cut it off and cast it to the side. Love thy neighbor. Pray for your enemies. Do good to those that wish to destroy you. Give to the poor. These are only a few examples of many of his teachings.

Jesus is the person who has given us the ability to be forgiven. We are all sinners. He went to the cross in agony with us all on his mind, even you. He died for your sins, and mine alike, out of love. He died so that we can live. He died so that we can be forgiven. All we have to do is pray to God, and repent. To repent is not to just say sorry. True repentance is when a person is truly sorry for the sins they have committed; they know that they are guilty, and they are asking, from the bottom of their heart, for God to reach out, and say, I forgive you.

Jesus is how we can be healed. By his stripes we are healed. Any depression or anger or any grievance in our heart that push us away from him and other people he can heal. He can heal you and me alike, and it all starts with faith and prayer.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the Son of God, the Lamb of God, whose blood was shed on the cross for you and me. Do not take for granted this gift of life that he has given you, but instead, freely receive it, and share it with others. Spread the Gospel. Express the love of Jesus to others so that they might see the light as well. And never forget what Jesus has done for you.
